Now, We're Out Of Monies

The thread was acquired, dear Internets, and we started in this morning while D was still asleep.
Such is how the weekends off go - I'm up first most of the time. I then stay up for a bit, and crawl back in bed, hoping to wake him up.
Most of the time, though, he is not to be bothered with the idea of "getting up" and I end up falling back asleep as well. Let's not mention the time we were finally both out of bed, but it is a very unlovely time to be finally getting up.
Either way, things were a'started this morning, and we're not very far, but it's coming along.

Yes, it's resting on my laptop. So, no, it is not very large yet.
I had no intentions of it fanning up at the top, I originally wanted it to be straight. However, I think this will work out. And considering it won't be laying down, per-say, a non-straight edge will be just fine. Not only a few more miles of thread to go! Nah, just kidding, but it will be a few days before it's done.

Now, I started this morning, but did not work on it all day, because we were out and about. Had intentions of buying only work shoes.

And work shoes were bought.

But, for some reason, the middle of January calls for "40% off lowest marked price" clearance sales. Who thought this was alright? And yes, the swimsuits are out in full swing - and already on sale! Craziness!
Either way, sales were shopped.
I finally got a good fitting (perfect fitting, if I do say so myself) grey pair of pants. Very trouser-y, and I am in love. Very warm, as well, added plus! And a belt! One of the skinny-varieties, and it is a grey colour, as well. Grey goes with everything, really, and not as dark and dreary as black.
Shirts were also acquired.

It is a bit hard to tell, but it's more of a blue than a green. And yes, it is a sort-of-see-through zebra print! There were all sorts of colours and there was either zebra or leopard, but this one stuck out the most. Well, that and the neon yellow, but that didn't come home with me, sadly.

Another mesh-ish top. But a white t-shirt variety, and of roses instead of zebra.

I love these, really, simply because they could go with anything. And I have so many tank-tops, and now two more things to wear with them!

A long dark grey cardigan was also purchased. Nothing very fancy. Long neckline, buttons, and cute little square pockets on the front. I have a feeling pictures will be taken once it is actually worn with something.
Worn with something summery! It kills me that all the things I want to wear right now are summer items when it's literally 35 degrees outside and therefore unwearable. Sad indeed.

Bad Starting Points

Oh dear, Internets, oh dear indeed.
Mentioning the forgotten thread last night made me think about how much yarn I *actually* had. I promptly got up, camera in hand, and took pictures of where it all is.

The term "stash" is used a lot in regards to yarn (and craft supplies of all sorts), but it really is the correct term for me. I have it "stashed" about the house in so many places. It's rather, erm, messy, and scattered. There is some of it I don't even remember what the intended project was!
I try to buy yarn only when I have a project in mind, and tend to stick to that, but hardly ever are these projects finished...let me show you.

The only drawer *not* full of yarn is the red one!!

This is not including the pink and two cream ones in the living room!

Yes, that is some crocheted bits still attached to skein (happens often) and yes it is hiding in with the sheets!

This applies to the picture below.

Ten gallons of yarn, in  theory. And yes, it's in bags, to keep started projects together. Do I know what they are? Probably not!

Top drawer of the dresser I talked about over vacation. Left over bits of the blanket for my soon-to-be-mother-in-law, and a few other ideas that I started on and abandoned.

Yes, this is a duffel bag. And yes it contains two separate blanket projects. One is almost done, even, and yet I haven't touched it in months!

This is in the living room. Top left is the red and black blanket, top right is for the star blanket I don't think I've told you about, and the bottom is for a moose, that I started on Christmas and haven't, also, touched since. I tend to do that!

Bits of the star blanket, and a ripple I started (and sort of fell out of love with) over the summer. This is a reusable shopping tote, and it is packed full, I assure you!

Yes, I think that is all. Of it, I mean, the yarn.
Internets, I have a problem. I am a starter, and not a finisher.
The plan is, some point in the very near future, at least get some sort of system going, other than what made sense at the time (which it still does, just not well).

Dears, what is the best way to organize yarn?!?!

Sad Things And Some Strange Wins

Internets, I forgot to get more thread tonight after work. I need more. Not that I got through a whole spindle (are they called spindles? I'm not sure). But I wanted to double up the thread - for heavier yet still lacy - instead of getting a larger string, just use two little ones! It's worked well in the past. I promise.

Also, dinner looked like mush. No really! But I've heard it was delicious.
You know how I was supposed to start a meal-planning activity of sorts? Well, this week we've been winging it. And just deciding at eating.
Monday was tacos. Tuesday was macaroni and cheese with hot dogs and garlic bread. Wednesday was chili (with hot dogs again!) and cornbread. And tonight was mush-looking.
Erm, it's delicious, though! If you get past the sickly pale colour.
Chicken, all cut up and cooked (seasoned to your liking - I like onion, garlic, red pepper flakes, and Tapatio sauce).
White Rice, all cooked up following regular directions.
And a can of condensed cream of mushroom soup. The little cans, not the family size. This you leave uncooked.
Then, when the chicken and rice is done, put in a baking dish, add soup, mix together, and bake for ten-ish minutes at 200 degrees or so. You can guess, I promise.
And that was dinner, and I was told it was good. Not that pleasing to the eye, but good.

This is something I grew up eating, even, and had entirely forgot about it until last night, shame on me!

I will leave you with that, I suppose, seeing as my new projects of sorts are on halt for the evening. I need to go work on the red and black blanket. Should probably do some dishes, but that doesn't sound fun!

Oh, and this.

 

Yeah, that's a canning jar.
Yeah, that's a lid to drink out of on it.
And yeah, everyone says it reminds them of a sippy cup. But it is the most delightful way to drink your coffee. I promise.

So Very Close Now!

Swift kick in the pants - that's what I need, and have almost gotten. We're so very close, Internets, I promise!

There's a few more things I need to figure out, about the plottings of such. It will, hopefully, be rather simple. But, I'm not sure yet.

Either way...I'm planning on just shaving off sleep-hours and hoping to turn them into productive-happy hours. Who needs sleep, anyway? Heavy caffination will be required, of course, but I can live with that.  And, hopefully, hopefully, one can be successful.

I will let you know how my plottings-figurings go, as soon as I have them all plotted and figured out.
